What is a Bleed or Bleeding?
The easiest way to understand a bleed is to think of it as the portion of the image around the edge which could be cut.
Due to the analog cutting process which happens after printing, it is never an exact knowledge of where the paper will be cut and end. To guard again such issues, printers long ago created the bleed edge. Therefore, keep in mind never to put anything 'important' inside the are around the edge of your artwork because the cut will fall somewhere within this area.


Bleed are required in all products to allow to cutting. 0.125" for all products: photobooks, calendars, greeting cards, folded greeting cards and postcards.
To maximum area for graphics, put your images within the safe area, this area will never be cut.
